Mary Ann was born in Washington, D.C. She graduated from American University, and taught Physical Education for 5 years in the Montgomery County school system. She moved to Crofton in 1978 and, with her late husband, Bob, raised 2 children, Curt and Courtney. Mary Ann has been an integral part of our practice for 18 years. Her main responsibilities include managing the accounting, billing, and patient recall, scheduling appointments, preparing reports, etc. But no job description can adequately describe all that she does. She is constantly answering patient questions, solving problems, organizing our office processes. Equally important, she creates a warm, friendly experience for all our patients. We can’t believe that there could be any office that is more organized, thanks to her efforts. She is an avid Redskins fan.
Before Frennie joined the practice in 2009, she had been a long time patient of the practice. Originally from the banking industry, Frennie brings her professionalism and expertise to the front desk, scheduling appointments, fielding questions and insurance processing. Thoughtful and caring, she is also an excellent problem solver.
Tracy is a part of our front desk team. She is responsible for greeting and checking in patients, scheduling and confirming appointments and helping out where needed. She enjoys a good cup of coffee, reading, and spending time with her family. She also has a cat named Slinky who is only devoted to her.
We are very excited to have Michael as our Optical Manager. He is an optician who has been in the industry for nearly twenty years. He enjoys cooking and is also a professional photographer. A local native, Michael even taught some staff newbies how to properly eat and break open Maryland crabs. Always professional, he has a vast tie collection that could rival anyone else's.
Tami is our Vision Therapy Manager of the Anne Arundel Vision Therapy Center. She has a dedication and devotion to the field unlike any other. In April 2018 she received her COVT designation, Certified Optometric Vision Therapist, a process which involves written reports and case studies, a written examination and an oral interview. She is warm and friendly, while bringing experience, professionalism and expertise to our Vision Therapy program.
Ann-Marie is our vision therapist and optometric assistant. She enjoys working with patients of all ages in vision therapy. She has a passion for building and maintaining relationships with her patients and thrives on celebrating their successes. Her creativeness shines not only through vision therapy, but also in her artistic nature.
Beverly has been in the healthcare profession for over 40 years. She enjoys being of service and getting to know patients personally. When not at work, her great grandchildren and pets take up most of her free time. Volunteering for greyhound rescue has been her passion for many years. Beverly is the smile that greets you upon entering the office.
Doug is one of our professional opticians. He is a second generation optician having followed in his father's foot steps. Doug started as an apprentice in high school and as a result has been in the optical industry for over 50 years. HIs years of experience and knowledge are evident in how he helps patients with selecting the best frame and lens design for the best visual outcome.
Katrina has enjoyed assisting her community's vision and fashion needs for almost 30 years as an Optician. Her favorite part is connecting with each person in front of her and sharing in the joys of evolving families joys over years of returning visits. Her other passions include outdoor exploring, meditation and Hypnotherapy.
